St Mary’s Fabric and Roof Upgrade

Description of project

IRS Scotland Ltd were appointed as Principal Contractors under the CDM Construction Design Management Regulations 2015 to deliver the St Mary’s Fabric and Roof Upgrade on behalf of Dundee City Council and funding partner SSE. The project consisted of the installation of a new Structherm Structural insulated render system to 89 properties, this was broken down into 7 number 3 story tenement flats, which accounted for 43 properties with the remaining 46 being end terrace properties.

All the 3 storey properties also had an entire new roofing system fitted utilising the Russell Grampian tile totalling circa 2000m2 of new roof coverings including the removal and disposal of redundant chimney stacks. The render element consisted of 7600m2 of spray applied render allowing us to demonstrate our experience with the G5 render pump technology before applying the final silicon topcoat by hand.

Each property also received new soil, waste and rain water pipes utilising the Marley deep flow range. Finally, all facias and soffits were replaced with new 19mm Upvc giving the properties a new lease of life while securing a warm comfortable and affordable environment for their residents.
